Celebrations and Silver Linings

The start of a new year is a cross point between closure and opening, and how we choose to embrace or resist this opportunity can make all the difference.

In my own life, December brought a lot of unexpected change that took me by surprise! I had to move out of my home of 18 years, Los Angeles was ablaze with wildfires for a week, and with so much going on I couldn’t make the annual trip home to Sweden for Christmas.

I felt sad and frustrated by the change, and a little uncertain about how the pieces would fall back together. At the same time, I felt a sense of youthful thrill and excited for this new chapter in my life and grateful to spend the holidays with my L.A. family – my friends.

It was a bittersweet month to say the least.

To help me stay grounded through the turmoil of big change, I pulled out my Bed of Nails both morning and night. For seated meditation, at the computer, to lay and rest at night… and what a difference that made! I was reminded of just how incredible the Bed of Nails and acupressure technology is. Our bodies are hardwired for healing, and I was filled with gratitude that I had this simple, accessible tool at my fingertips to provide deep relief when I needed it most.

I have always believed that things happen for a reason and there is always something to appreciate right where we are. While it may not feel so good at the moment, I will recognize the blessing after time has passed.

What I know with certainty is that it’s through our retrospect and reflection that the silver lining is revealed.

And, so, the opportunity of one door closing while another opens (or one year passing while another arrives) is that it provides us with this momentary balance point or “window” to reflect and recognize the beauty of what has come to pass at the same time as we can get excited and embrace of what is coming to be.

It’s been a remarkable year for Bed of Nails, and we are so grateful to you, our customer, for your continued support and enthusiasm for our products.

A few of our “wins” in 2017 included:

• Growth: You can now find us online at Anthropologie, Amazon Europe, and An Uplifted Day
•
Giving Back: We participated in the Race to Erase MS Organization with great results
•
Gaining Momentum: We were featured in domestic and international media, including
LA Times, OM Yoga and British Vogue

Let us look back and appreciate the experiences we had and learn from the mistakes we made. And better still let us look forward to this new year with the anticipation and excitement of a child. Embrace the New Year with a positive outlook and a determined spirit to make all your dreams come true.

In beauty and grace,

Be Well ~
